According to Norwegian records, my great grandmother and her siblings were born in Ulsmoen in Oyestad. They were the children of Jacob Knudsen and Berthe Torjusdattar, and were born between 1849 and 1854. Jacob Knudsen died in 1855 and is buried in Oyestad churchyard. Bethe took all the children to Minnesota. I live in the Boston area and would like to be in contact with someone who knows the Oyestad and Froland areas and can perhaps answer a few questions I have.
