I am saddened to report the death of John Peters who passed away yesterday (22 May 2012) after a two year battle with lung cancer.

John was a frequent poster to this bulletin board using his "LithuanianGenealogy" ID. He was always ready to help with helpful detailed responses to people's queries.

I had the pleasure of meeting John in person several times to discuss Lithuanian genealogy over coffee or a meal. He was a true gentleman.

His last posting to this bulletin board was 11 May 2012.

He will be sorely missed.
