At last I found a record of a GALVANAUCKAS GALVANAUSKAS who came from KUPRELISKIS. My great-great grandmother was an Elizabeth Galvanauckas who came from MIKOLAITISKIS. She married Petras VALINTELIS. They had four children, my great grandmother Elzbieta Valintelyte b.1865, who married Petras VALINTELIS,great aunt MORTA VALINTELIS b.1876 and my great-uncle ANTONAS VALINTELIS 1878,and a son, Jonas who died in 1870.
MORTA and ANTONAS V. sailed to the states to Chicago. Their sister, Elzbieta married PETRAS VALINTELIS, an only child. They were not related. My grandma was right when she said that everyone in Kupreliskis and Mikolaitiskis was a VALINTELIS. Who knows? Maybe they were distant cousins.
Now I am looking for ELZBIETA GALVANAUCKAS' family. She must have been born at least by 1855 or 1856. The
closest I can come to it on this side of the pond is a Paul Galvanauskas from Kupreliskis, who lived in DANVILLE, ILLINOIS. His wife was Barbara. On his "old mans" 1942 registration, it says he came from KUPRELISKIS. His brother who lived with him was JOHN.
There are PETER AND PAUL GALVANAUSKAS from Illinois, but they were from VALANTISKIS.
If there is anyone doing research on my names, please let me know. There is probably noone left in KUPRELISKIS area.
