SALDUS, Latvia — Mrs. Lucy Lonko, 88, of Saldus, Latvia, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2009, in Europe.

She was a homemaker and a retired elementary school teacher.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Lonko of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Stella and the Rev. Fred Hawks, formerly of Mount Airy, NC; and three grandchildren, Nicolas Hawks, Sabine Hawks and Gabija Hawks of Riga, Latvia.

Funeral services will be conducted in Saldus, Latvia, Saturday, May 23, 2009
