Icelandic roots - Anderson/Andresson (also Asmundsdottir)

Classification: Query
Surnames: Anderson, Andresson, Asmundsdottir
My great great grandpa came to Canada in 1893. - Sigtryggur Sigurdson Anderson.
His father was Sigurdur Andresson, who I am told died at sea on August 4, 1892... he was a fisherman
His wife/Sigtryggur's mother was Helga Asmundsdottir
who died in Winnipeg in 1896 (?) and is buried in St. Boniface Cemetery there...
When Sigtryggur came to Canada, he farmed with his uncle (Sigurdur's brother) Bjorn in Manitoba, and later brought his mother and only sister "Ingiridur" (spelling may be wrong).
Can anyone help me trace this back farther? and more completely, or give me a hint on how i can go about doing that?
