Questions about Finnish genealogy research

Classification: Query

The majority of my time and effort has been spent on my Swedish side of relatives. I have an entire stack of papers left to me by my great grandfather that I've trying to piece together as to how it fits in my family tree.

Some general questions:
Did Finland follow patronymics like in Sweden?
When entering into my family tree, is it more acceptable to put in the Finnish name / region rather than the Swedish?
Are there any (free) online resources as far as records go?

An example:
A family group record left
Erik Henriksson Lidman b. 12 Aug 1823 in Skarper,Kjerklax,Maxmo,Vaasa,Finland
wife Lisa Andersson b.26 Apr 1833 in Matlin,Ostyo,Maxmo,Vaasa,Finland daughter Anna Lovisa Ericsson b 23 Aug 1858 in Furunas, Kjerklax, Maxmo, Vaasa, Finland

What is the proper way to enter this information in?

Thanks in advance!
