Emil Hautamaki, changed to Johnson upon entry to the US, was born July 23, 1888 in Kortesjarvi, Lansi-Suomen Laani, Finland. His wife was Anna Davidson Davidsdattir Renvall, they married May 1, 1909 in Jeppo, Lansi-Suomen Laani, Finland. He arrived in New York in 1909 at age 20. By 1930, he was living in Felch, Dickinson County, Michigan (the UP).
Emil died in 1966, buried in Felch.
They had 11 children: Evald John, Odin Emil, Dagney Johanna, Anna Olive Elizabeth, Edith Sophia, Ruth Astrid, Lea "Margaret" Lovisa, Dorothy Adelia, Mildred Lucille, Raul Runard, and Roger Philip William, all with the surname Johnson. Margaret was my late mother-in-law.
It's possible that Emil Johnson formerly Hautamaki's father was Karl Norrbacka Hautemaki, born around 1860.
