Thanks for the information. His early death and the gap in the Census data explains why he doesn’t show in any Census. Finding a document that shows his parents is my ultimate goal. I have speculated that a Mathis Simonsen could be his father because he lived in the town of Lønborg and had a son Christian of the right age, but have found no documentary proof.
