I have the same e-mail as I used to have.
As for Nykøbing there are 3 small cities in Denmark called Nykøbing: Nykøbing Mors - not awfull far from Tvis - it is in Thisted amt = county.
Then there are Nykøbing Sjælland - on Zealand and Nykøbing Falster on the island Falster. But I recond they are too far away for consideration.
The Danish state has poured an awfull lot of money into scanning all the church records and most of the census'. And making the records available on the internet. This past November they finished all the records from the beginning till 1892 - except for 1870 census.
And they are now working on all the records up until 1920.
All this can be found on
www.arkivalieronline.dk.
There are an English guide.
At this site there is a link to
www.ddd.dda.dk with all the transcribed census's and a small start of transcribtion of
churchrecords.
Another really good place to visit is
www.dis-danmark.dk. If you check in on "Forum" there is a link for getting help looking for your Danish ancestors and a link for "Hjælp til tydning" where you can take any text from "arkivalieronline = AO" /or scanned text and have really skilled genealogists help you cracking the code of the text. (Also translating text - in the threads there are referrals to omputer-dictionaries translating digital text to English). The site is free and run by volunteers.
All sites I have mentioned are free.
A short important translation:
Sogn = parish
Herred = distrikt
Amt = county
Have nice day.
