I"m still at a loss with what happened to Mikkel Mikkelsen and some of his family. I have looking at the Danish National archives. All I could find was the 1850 census. There must be more info I just do not know how to find it.
Over the years several different people have been a great help and I do want to thank them!!!
With every note there are new question.
A note in Feb of this year stated that after Anne Marie's death in 1873 that Mikkel remarried. That was news to me (and OK) but I still do not know when and where he died. Also would like at least birth and death info on second wife.
Mikkel and Anne Marie Jensdatter (Jens Iversen and Karen Olsdatter Mandep [sp]) had 7 children, Johan Conrad 1843-???, Jens 1845-185???, Karl 1847-1929, Catrine 1849-1924, Niels 1851-1924, Jensine Caroline 1854-1917, and Jens 1856-186???.
Karl, Niels and Catrine came to the US all at different times. Karl and Niels to Muskegon Co. Michigan and Cathrine to Racine Wisconin.
Mikkel's parents were Johan Conrad Michelson Schmidt and Ane Cathrine Grevsen.
I know Karl married Ellen Kristian Hansen (Hans Ebbesen Olsen and Karen Jensdatter).
Any help on this family would be GREAT. Links to places to look would be helpful too.
