Hi family! I do not know why all of a sudden I want to search for the Samoan side of Tuipelehake-Su'a Paia but it was very interesting to see it all on the net! Well when I was just a little girl back in the island of Samoa - Su'a Paia a.k.a. Su'a Kipeni often comes around @ our place whenever he visits from the States. My dad's mom is a daughter of a Su'a - and she is also a taupou of Salelavalu, Savai'i. The greatgranddaughter of Su'a Tagaloa Eperame. Tagaloa Eperame has four sons and his only daughter Taiana who married a Tuipelehake. Tuipelehake and Taiana has a son named Saimasina. When Tuipelehake passed away, Taiana and her son came back to Samoa. Saimasina married a daughter of So'oalo of Samauga, Savai'i. Because Su'a Paia (Su'a Kipeni) is a clan of Taina we often call him Su'a Saimasina. My dad never been to Tonga to see the Royals but his cousins used to visit the palace - one of his cousins name was Salote and now moving to the States. I still have Tuipelehake cousins @ Salelologa Savai'i and they are still taking Tuipelehake as their last name. They used to stay with us in the main island of Apia for education. The Salelologa Tuipelehake came with gifts to King Taufaahau when HRH 1st visit Samoa. I heard that King Taufaahau on his 2nd visit to Apia went to Savai'i to see our family.
Su'a Paia is a musician and he was the one who compose the "Under the starry sky, dig the grave and let me lie" by Robert Louis Stevenson.
Well my knowledge of the family tree doesn't stop there but hey I thank God for our families. May the good Lord God richly bless all of you. May the Lord in His own good will have His way for our family REUNION! But who can unite the 4 sides of the globe?
