Hello I do not know if you still look at this page as 2003 is sure a long way from 2014 ah.
The name Scanlan is in my Whakapapa but we spell it this way> O'Scanlan.
A first cousin of mine told me last year that some spell it your way but he has decided to stick with the letter O before Scanlan.
I wish to communicate with you because.......
Today here in NZ I attended a 83 year old lady's Tangi, she being a family friend off ours for as long as I have been on this planet, as will as her 4 children and one or two Moko.
During her service @ the chapel of the LDS I read her mother inlaws name for the first time.
This shocked me as during her husbands life time I never new his mums name until today, and then at the burial site I saw the two graves of both her husband and her mother inlaw, right along side is her grave.
The mother inlaw is the same name that you wrote in your quest.
Latafale Scanlan was the mother of Tony Adam of Samoa, who's wife was Paricia May Adam nee Crawshaw of New Zealand.
If you read this please return with a email.
There are two different family's here being mine a Williams who dad was also Samoan and the Adam who were part German Samoan, both connected though Whakapapa although I never new this until today.
If you return the call both family's I'm sure will welcome the call.
My dads dad was also named Richard Williams who worked for the German Govt of the day on Savaii his head quarters being at Matautu where there was a Court House.
Grand father Williams was born in County Kerry Ireland 1858.
I await your call in hope.
Kia Ora Richard A Williams.(2nd)
