The account of the times printed in the Dorset County Chronical, July 24,1845 provides this brief description of the Henry Warland (on bail).
The prisoner is a married man, the father of a young child, and a respectable tradesman, carrying on the the business of a plumber and glazier in the town of WIMBORNE MINSTER, DORSET.
The sentence handed down was "that he be transported for the term of his natural life. Sources obtained from Ancestry clearly shows the sentence was for 7 years transportation to van Diemens Land.
