Sorry no we haven't done Fairhall Cemetery, only the non Council/church ones as mentioned.
You could try contacting the Marlborough District Council they may as they are slowly taking photos of headstones.

Hello,

By chance would you happen to have in Fairhall Cemetery:

Daniel Hutchison died 10 July 1981
Nola Daphne Hutchison died 10 April 1995

Both are buried in the Lawn area, Block 1, Row 3 in Plot 2.

I'm a bit of a distance away and not much chance to make it there myself to take a look.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

I am also looking for a photograph in Omaka Cemetery.
If anyone is going and has the time to look - I'd appreciate a picture or even a note about the inscription on the stone.

Walter Jones & s-i-l's Harold Hall, Harold Watson and Leonard Brayshaw

I am researching the military history of Wilfred Walter Jones who died at Gallipoli 1915 when he was a Engineer-tunneller and was blown up by a demolition from a Turkish tunnel. I am hoping his family may have a photo or other details. Appears his father Walter Jones moved from Emu Plains (Sydney) to Renwicktown by 1920 with his daughters Ethel Pearl (Mrs Leonard Brayshaw of Blenheim), Eunice Caroline (Mrs Harold Sydney Watson of Renwick?) and Winnifred Maud Eliza (Mrs Harold John Hall, grocer of Wellington), leaving behind in NSW brother Norman Rupert William Jones of Camperdown (also WWI veteran) who married later in life age 64. Any historians studying this family?

It is a wonderful and tragic story. My uncle is still alive at age 90 and still has a picture of Molly. I only know of the pregnancy and post-war phone calls due to my aunt: Uncle has never mentioned either.

I am curious as to her fate and the fate of my cousin. Uncle is in failing health, and I am not trying to arrange some sort of reunion.

Thank you for your quick reply. Your information differs from what I have been told about her. My uncle served in the US Marine Corp and fought at Guadalcanal; his unit was sent to NZ after six month of combat. Shortly after disembarking at Wellington, my Uncle and a buddy met two local girls and quickly decided to go AWOL and travel with the young women to their hometown, Blenheim. Molly was one of those women. Uncle and his buddy spent a week there and were treated wonderfully by the people of Blenheim. A romance blossomed between my Uncle and Molly, and she became pregnant. He wanted to marry, but the USMC disagreed. Uncle was medically evacuated from NZ shortly before the Tarawa operation. To the best of my knowledge, she gave birth to the child in 1943/early 1944 and eventually settled in Texas with a husband and her child (Uncle had telephone conversations with her her after the war). Also, she could not have been born in 1894 because she was two years young than my Uncle, who was born in 1922.

Molly Beryl Sheridan,s parents were Francis Earll Sheridan and Meeta Iris BALL. Meeta Iris Ball was the daughter of Thomas Jacob Ball ( who was my Great Grandfathers brother) and Sarah Jane Barnes. Back to the Sheridan,s Francis Earll died at his residence 82 Main St, Blenheim april 22nd 1952 he spent 50 years in the local clothing trade At his death Molly is still in Blenheim as Molly TYACKE.Molly was born 26th July 1894 in Blenheim, marr Bryan Walter TYACKE 2nd Feb 1944 in Blenheim divorced him before 1950. Byran Tacke remarried Betty June Bradshaw in 1950 Molly remarried to George Roland Pickering in 1953. I,m pretty sure Bryan Walter Tyacke was born 1924 died 12th April 2008 at Picton. Have no info in my notes abt Molly going to USA.

Thank you for your interest. Molly Sheridan resided in Blenheim at least through 1943. She had a war baby and eventually married a US Army soldier and emigrated to the USA after the war.

I only know that her father owned a men's clothing store in Blenheim.

No way you're dumb, if we all don't ask we don't know it's just all a learning curve and more we ask more we find out things.
I haven't got a headstone photo of Whittington Lane but in the cemeteries that we've taken photos of, there are a lot of unmarked graves, so the one's we don't have can't have a h/stone.
The probates are Wills of the deceased person, not every one has one though. I'll send you a link through then you can enter a full name or just a surname then it will come up where their Probate/Will are held, e.g. Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch etc....

Hello, I am descended from Gibson, Brydon and McIsaac and my parents are travelling down to Renwick this weekend to visit the museum etc. I have tried to find out more about the cemeteries but have only found that Gibsons are buried at the Kaituna Cemetery and Brydons at the Renwick Cemetery. As well as photos, are you able to provide any information/directions//map for where these cemeteries are, especially the Kaituna Cemetery, and where these families are buried in them?

The people I am specifically interested in are as follows:
Gibson, John - d 1889, Elizabeth - d 1893, John William - d 1905, Ann (wife nee Brydon) - d 1890: McIsaac, Robert Dick - d1880, Ellen (wife nee Brydon) - d1906; Brydon William - d 1883 and Johanna - d 1909

John Glover is my 2nd great grandfather and Susan Ann Moir was his second wife, in all John fathered 13 children. Unfortunately John's first wife Isabella died not long after they arrived in NZ along with their youngest son. So John was a widower with two young children when he married Susan Moir in 1874.

''granny Glover'' her name wasn't Susan Ann (nee Moir) married John Glover in 1874. I have a h/stone photo of this Susan, she's in the Havelock Cemetery.
Yes there is a Charles Henry Glover plus his other siblings, 10 children in toll, as they did back then.

Hi...my mother was reading this.Way back in the 1920s she used to visit a Mrs glover whom they called granny glover in Havelock.She had a son called charles.Now i have a photo of Granny glover if you woud like a copy.Mum said she was a lovely wee scitch lady???

tomtheram2, you're welcome, if there's any more that you want looked up just ask. Haven't got any h/stone photos of Dalziel's & Haines in the other Wairau Cemetery. They could be there but no headstones, there are alot of unmarked plots in both Cemeteries.
