Mr William Hartley Hargreaves who died in Auckland last Wednesday aged 86 was manager of the Bank of New Zealand, Akaroa for a number of years. He left Akaroa about 35 years ago to take up his residence at Auckland.

BANKER'S BEQUEST.
LATE MR. HARGREAVES WIDOWS' BENEVOLENT FUND. ESTATE SWCSN AT £12000. The establishment of a fund for the benefit of indigent widows of officers of the Bank of New Zealand is provided, for in the will of the late Mr. William Hartley Hargreaves, of Remuera, probate of which has been granted at the Supreme Court. Mr. Hargreaves ietired from the bank some considera>ble time ago after having occupied the,position of manager of a number of branches in the South Island. His estate has been sworn at £12,000. On the eXpiiation of life interests to relatives the testator provides that the capital and income of the estate shall be paid to the directors of the Bank of New Zealand for the purpose already named.
