I am trying to put together a family tree.Looking for any information on STEEVENS from the Hawkes Bay area from the 1800's to present day I have got some names from Births deaths and marriages NZ but still cant piece things together.
My great great grandfather was William Henry Steevens (B1865 D1942) who married Catherine Mary Horton nee Allen when doing so he was disowned by his father due to his new bride been a different religion and she was a widow with children. They then moved to Pongakawa,western Bay of Plenty and went on to have 4 more children one been my grandfather James John Steevens.Catherine was almost 40 when she had children with William Henry and James John had a family at a later age so did my parents So sadly this is where my family history ends.
