John James Robinson was a carpenter and cabinetmaker in Rangiora and also became Town Clerk. He arrived in New Zealand on the "Zealandia", which sailed 14 June 1858, arriving on 21 September 1858. The family came as assited immigrants and he was listed as a carpenter from Dulwich. He travelled with his wife and two daughters Lucy and Ellen. He had five children, but the eldest son Frank died in England before they left. Another son also called Frank and Agnes were born in NZ, but only Ellen and Agnes lived to adulthood. And, yes, Agnes did marry John George Lawrence Scott and they had three sons. J G L Scott had a daughter from a previous marriage. His first wife died in Queensland.
