Here's the info you're likely to get on death entries in 1880s-1980s BUT only if someone supplies the details! And no guarantees as to accuracy particularly regarding parents' names, the deceased's birthplace/age, and previous marriages.
Deceased: Name, age, date/place of death, home address (if different), occupation, sex; war service(yes/no)
cause of death, length of illness, certifying doctor; burial (or cremation) place/date/minister or celebrant
birthplace, father's name/occupation, mother's name/maiden name; length of time in NZ
place of marriage, age at marriage, to whom married and if still living, age; ages/sex of surviving children; informant's name/address/occupation
Usually by 1960s the informant is a funeral director, not a family member.
If you order a death entry, make sure you only pay NZ$20 for a printout (a certificate costs more and has less info!).
