Hi EBerry,
Is Joseph's name recorded as 'Joseph' on the death certificate?
On the death indexes, both Joseph & his father's names are recorded as 'Josh' usually short for Joshua.
Joseph is normally just abbreivated as 'Jos'.
Does it mention on Joseph's death certificate if he has been married?
Who is the informant?
There are too many Joseph Smith marriages to choose from.
I could not see a Joseph/Josh Smith & Sarah Bennett* having children in Victoria.
Possible death for Sarah Smith (nee Bennett)...
Sarah Smith d.1862 rego.6184 - born Surrey -age 55 (c.1807)
Parents: Thomas Bennett & Sophia Unknown
