Thomas Patrick Kerrins is my great, great grandfather and I'm especially interested in his history as I have a MA in Irish Studies. I am doing some independent work in genealogy and I'm trying to find any information I can regarding Thomas'background. This is what I've found so far through death records, obituary notices, etc. is- Thomas came from Co. Sligo (not sure of exact townland) Ireland and emigrated to NY in 1852. He worked on the Hudson River for a time, moved to a place called Ft. Plain College NY, married Mary Meehan (also from Co Sligo)in Buffalo then moved to Il. in 1857 and died in Chatsworth Il 1902.
