A newspaper article appeared in the Argus on the 24th of April 1917, p.9 which reads:
“Blampied: A sports meeting held at Blampied in aid of the State School Patriotic Fund realised a profit of £25. Mr P. Kelly, who is leaving the district for Melbourne, was entertained and presented with a case of pipes. Mrs Kelly was given a tea-set. Councillor J.T. Yates presided.”
This was some of my relatives who were moving to Melbourne from the Blampied-Eganstown area.
Cheers
