I have a copy of a petiton to the Court of Session in Edinburg of 1907, referring to JAFFRAY family who had emigrated to Tasmania. Does anyone have knowledge of what happened to them? Does this link with the names referred to in the Australian WW2 lists online gives two Jaffrays: Alexander George Jaffray, b 29.9.1926, Derby, Tasmania, enlisted 17.1.1945, Derby, next of kin George Jaffray, discharged 13.12.1946; Pte, 41/2 Australian Infantry Bn and
Albert Jaffray, b 16.10.1924, Derby, Tasmania, enlisted 15.2.1943, Derby, next of kin George Jaffray, discharged 9.1.1946; RAAF No 88379; LAC, at 1 Medical Rehabilitation Unit at discharge?
The names in 1907 are: MRS. CHRISTINA GRAHAM JAFFRAY or MORRIS, wife of WILLIAM MORRIS, Farmer, West Kentish, Tasmania, with the consent and concurrence of the said William Morris, for his interest; WILLIAM PARK JAFFRAY, Farmer, Derby, Tasmania; ROBERT GARDNER JAFFRAY Beaconsfield, Tasmania.
Many thanks
