GG grandfather Bartholomew Cottom, also found spelling as Cotton. Transported to VDL, married Louisa Henrietta Stanley in Hobart, 04 March 1850.

I am looking for information on George Fordyce Cotton. Unfortunately I have very limited information. He married Rose Ann P'Toole.
I hope you can assist.
Thank you.

Hi Heather, You do not give a time frame for George. As far as I know we do not have any George's in the family but if it is later than the 1900s then he may be connected. Sorry Sue

Sue, George was Married in Tasmania in 1888 in a town called Ringarooma which was a mining town to Rose Anne O'Toole. My information tells me that Ringarooma is now a ghost town. Rose died in 1907 or 1908, possibly in Derby but definately in Tasmania. My information is that George was either a miner or a mine manager. I hope this information helps

Hi. My father is Noel Shinn who is the son of Elaine Campbell who is Jessie Thow's daughter. Was wondering what your relationship to Jessie Thow is. Are you Bill Love's daughter? Thanking you Jessie Shinn

Hi Jessie, I've only just seen your query now, I'm very sorry. I am Bill Love's daughter, your father Noel is my cousin. Jessie Thow was my grandmother. If you are still interested, I have traced our Campbell side back to 1840, when my great-great grandfather James Campbell just fourteen years of age was charged with stealing and eventually tried and transported to Point Puer the child section of port Arthur. He was Scottish, born in Glasgow. I have obtained quite a few records during my research which give an insight into his character. Love to share information if you are interested, Miriea.
