Looking for any info for Bernard or Bernie D. WELLS, last known address was Adelaide, South Australia, January 1908. He was a graduate of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing 1906 or 1907. His home was Kentucky, USA, born 1876. Bernie was never heard from again and his inheritance was lost.

Bernard Dickerson Wells, B: 9 Mar 1876. D: 13 Mar 1932. Buried S. Australia. Married Leona Carr Gibbs in Manhattan, Ny 1904. Married: Harriett Litster in South Australia, 10 Apr 1909. Daughter: Doris Wells born 9 Apr 1909 she married Alfred Seyfang.
I am not so certain Bernard graduated from John Hopkins Nursing. His 1903 address was The Mills Training School for Male Nurses at Bellevue Hospital, NYC. His place of employment on the 1900 Federal Census lists him there as an employee. Some of this info comes from a cert copy of his marriage license to Leona Carr Gibbs. Mills School required a 2 year internship at Bellevue for graduation, however there was a terrible scandal involving the Mills Male Nurses in 1903-04. Bernard may have chosen to continue his education elsewhere, lest he be tainted also.
The question you have asked tells me you likely have information I could use.
Hope this helps.

Responding to the original request....

According to his file on NAA, he arrived in South Australia on Oct 1907 on the SS YARRA from England.
http://recordsearch.naa.gov.au/SearchNRetrieve/NAAMedia/Show...

However the SS YARRA was an Australian coastal trader which sailed between Sydney, Newcastle, Melbourne and the South Australian ports including Wallaroo. My ancestor was a marine engineer who was on the SS YARRA for a period between 1900 and 1910. I recall tales of the ships carrying coal from Newcastle to various South Australian ports for the South Australian Railways. It is possible that Bernard initially arrived elsewhere in Australia.

Bernard gave his occupation as electrician in 1915
