Hi Jenny,
Maybe check WA and VIC.
There was nothing organised in SA before 1836.
So even though there may have been people camping about there, there wasn't a 'state' as far as the government was concerned.

Maybe any registrations had to be done in VIC or WA depending on how close to which border..

Mary Jane HOPPO d 1953 aged 88 Kew -parents William Rowland and Mary Burgess # 609

There is also a marriage:
Jean Elizabeth HOPPS { b England } m Edgar John FRASER { b Shepparton}1897 # 1989

The only HOPPS birth

Hi Jenny,
I can basically confirm the Innes HOPPS was actually Innes HOPPO..
From the SA Poice Gazzette 19 NOV 1873

"The dwelling-house of Innes Hoppo, at Solomon-street,
Adelaide, was entered on the 12th instant, a box broken
open, and the following stolen therefrom :-Three £1-notes,
three sovereigns, eleven half-sovereigns, £9 in shillings, two
shilling pieces, and half-crowns, and £2 5s. in threepenny
and fourpenny pieces.--(C.1102.)"

What an amazing piece of information, thank you so much Kellie, one intends to forget about the pounds, shillings and pence, even that brings back memories, do you have to belong or subscribe to some where to find that sort of information, thanks again
Jenny
