Start with your grandparents names - do you know their details? Where born and approx when? :) Lots of people here who are happy to help on the boards!

Add Norman and Thelma to your tree,.Ask your parents their dates of birth and death then post them and help will come.
And keep in mind that this will take time.

Hi,
Norman was born after 1918 so we cannot search a birth in QLD for him. Probably the same with his wife.

The couple you have listed as Norman's parents were married in 1918
1918 C1745 Pearl Florance May Morgan to Wallace Charles Carter

You can use QLD BDM for more detail and use TROVE to search for any newspaper notices.

Hi,
You might also need to search NSW BDM as Wallace and Pearl left QLD and went to NSW
Pearl died 1938
20937/1938 CARTER PEARL FLORENCE MAY (father)WILLIAM HAROLD (mother)CONSTANCE AMELIA at WARIALDA

It looks like Wallace died 1968
26266/1968 CARTER WALLACE CHARLES (father)CHARLES JAMES (mother)KATE at WALLSEND

Ok, Norman appears to be Norman Leslie CARTER not Norman William.
Marriage in NSW 1944
23999/1944 CARTER NORMAN LESLIE to BAUGH THELMA MAY at MOREE

You can search electoral rolls here on Ancestry to see where they lived.
