It appears as though George and Alice LLOYD, parted, before his death on 18 February 1942, as Marjorie's first marriage in 1937, describes her as the daughter of Mrs. A. LLOYD (no mention of the father, Frederick LLOYD).

A pretty wedding of Interest to friends in Townsville was celebrated at the Church of England, Gladstone, on Saturday, September 25, when Marjorie, the youngest daughter of Mrs. F. G. Lloyd, Philp-street, Hermit Park, Townsville, and Clive Nelson, the youngest son of Mrs. L. McLachlan, Campsie, Sydney, were married. The Rev. Burrows officiated, and Mr. M. Jansen, who presided at the organ, also sang 'Because' during the signing of the register. The bride, who was given away by Mr. J .Smith, wore a beautiful frock of white bridal satin showing a high neck-line and the front was finished with a row of tiny satin buttons from neck to hem, and worn with an over-dress of lace, cut in classical lines, the skirt of both forming into a long, sweeping train. Dwelling Gutted
At 11.54 p.m. on Sunday the Fire Brigade received a call to proceed to Philp-street, Hermit Park. A large dwelling owned by Mr. C. Ede, and occupied by Mrs. Lloyd was totally destroyed. No details of insurance are available.
