Kathaleen DUNNE married Harry CHIPPERFIELD on 23rd February 1909. She was a spinster and born in Rockhampton QLD. Her usual occupation was Domestic Duties. She was 18 (prob 15 or 16 from Birth cert 1893). Her usual place of residence was Sydney NSW. Her father was John Edward DUNNE (deceased). Profession Miner. Her mother was Margaret KELLY. The consent of Margaret DUNNE was given to the marriage.

I left out the grooms details for now. From this it shows that John Edward DUNNE was indeed deceased by 1909, and suggested to me that as Margaret was living in Sydney at the time, then I would best look for her death in the area as well. I've found a couple of Margaret's in Sydney and surrounds, and one even had the right birth year. However they weren't married to John Edward DUNNE. As I right that I realised she may have remarried. The other witness at the wedding was a Joyce Grieg, and I wonder if she was not in someway related.

As for Margaret's details on the birth certs

1: Anne 1878 - Margaret formerly KELLY, 27 years, Galway, Galway, Ireland
2: Rose Ellen 1883 - Margaret KELLY, 34 years, Ireland
3: David James 1886 - Margaret KELLY, 37 years, Ireland
4: Catherine 1893 - Margaret formerly KELLY, 39 years, Galway, Ireland

I had thought, to avoid expense I would just purchase a cross section of the birth certificates. However, given the difficulty tracking down Margaret & John, I'll look at buying the other 5 as soon as I can.

Thanks for your QLD research. I did find a John Edward DUNNE & Margaret KELLY in Rockhampton QLD (right next to where their 9th child Catherine was born). Unfortunately he was a Station Manager & unrelated. Given the time the family spent in QLD though, I feel John Edward DUNNE may be buried there, and after the death the family moved to Sydney.

I will look into the Margaret Kelly's you uncovered though, as she may well have returned to Brisbane or QLD after her daughter Catherine was married. The Trove article looks interesting. There's no mention so far of Margaret ANNE, however given her first daughter is named Anne, then it may well be possible.
