Hi Kathleen,
FamilySearch are one of the big names in genealogy and has been around forever! It is free and run by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They have been microfilming parish records and the like for a very long time and before people had the internet in their homes they'd go to the local LDS Family History Centre (all around the world) & be able to order in microfilm of parish records, for example for a parish in England where one of their ancestors came from. And people still do too. The largest Family History Library in the world is theirs in Salt Lake City, Utah & the building is apparently impressive. People from around the world take family history holidays there because their resources (2 millions rolls of microfilm!)are incredible & the staff helpful. They are adding data to their new website all the time but some things aren't indexed yet (anyone can volunteer). You may come across a reference to the IGI (International Genealogical Index) at some stage and this belongs to them - they had it on their old website & it hasn't disappeared like some think, now it is incorporated into records & family tree data on their new website. I could go on but that is enough except to say we, the public, owe a lot to their generosity.
OK, so if you go to their website...(just Google for the site - not allowed to post most links here on these boards).
You don't have to sign in.
At the bottom of the page click on Australia & NZ.
Then click Australia, Queensland Cemetery Records, 1802-1990.
At bottom of page click on Browse through 1,162,986 images (because they are only 4% indexed at present).
Click on Qld.
Click on Townsville, Cemetery.
Scroll down & click on the surname letter you want with the cemetery you want.
Flick through the cards or type in an image no. to jump ahead.
Hope that helps.
