Looking for any information about my aunt and her family. She arrived in Australia in 1927 from Glasgow, Scotland, the family here appear to have lost touch with her but I believe that about 1950 contact was made with the help of the Salvation Army. My mother and I went out to Brisbane and stayed with her for a couple of years. After we returned to Scotland there doesn't seem to have been any further contact. I wonder what became of them?
What I know
Name- Margretta Louisa Howie born 1901 Glasgow, Father James Howie, Mother - Mary Ellen Jenkins. Married -John/James Thomson about 1930 Don't know if widowed or divorced but living/married with Perce Short 1951/3 when we were there. I also had a cousin Eric who must have been born about 1930 would love to know what became of him. Forgot to say they lived just off Webster Rd. In Stafford, Brisbane, and I attended Stafford State School.
Hoping someone out there might be able to help.

Hi Tania, you're.a star.
I now see as I suspected that Eric was born prior to Madge's marriage. I wonder if he was Perce's son or Madge's. The Howie family have given me quite a runaround as at first I couldn't even find my Grandfather's birth ( they all changed their surname to their mother's maiden name).
I wonder what happened to Eric, He would be about 85yrs old so it's possible that he is still alive. I'd love to know if he married and if he had a family. Have you any idea how I would go about that? I was just thinking that it is funny the things that you remember or half remember, I wracked my brain and thought that the family lived in Liddle St. I'm pretty sure that after all these years that if the house was still standing I could take you there If you have any thing that you need help with in Scotland let me know and I will do my best to help.
