Hi,
I doubt you will be able to purchase his birth certificate but you could always contact QLD BDM to find out.
First you would need to prove he is deceased and secondly that you are related but even then the 100 year privacy law may exclude you from being able to purchase it.

Hi Tracie,

Maybe, you could purchase his death certificate, dated August 1945. That will give you his age.

Trove search words:

"fensom William a J"

He didn't enlist in 1939, he would have only been 14 years old.

Here he is on the nominal roll, he enlisted and was discharged in 1944:

As Kellie has said, it is unlikely that you would be allowed to purchase his birth certificate - what information were you hoping to find that you don't already know?

William alfred James Fensom stated his correct age when enlisting. He served with the Volunteer Defence Corps as a Gunner 6th Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery. Enlisted 9/3/1944 - 11/12/1944. He died on 5 Aug 1945 Aged 18 years 11 months and is buried in Hemmant Cemetery, Monumental. C. 2. 35. with his parents and sister Joyce Isabel Osborne. (Service Record available at NAA. He is entlitled to medals for his service. There is also an Evelyn Cave nee Fensom buried in the same plot but as she was born in 1941 am unable to link them.
