Hi can someone tell me where the records of the Avon Downs Police station from 1916-1918 would be stored please - am trying to find the death of a Sydney Walker there either in Sept 1916 or Sept 1918

Avon Downs has only had a Police Station since circa 1960.
Before that, there was a Police Station at Rankin River, sometimes spelled Rankine River. The Officer-in-Charge, for many years, was Constable Hugh DEVINEY. He died a few years ago. I don't know when that Police Station opened.
As far back as 1916, you may also consider whether Avon Downs was then in the Borroloola Police District.
