She is still a mystery ......... She is a friends gt g mother. He was positive he had some aboriginal ancestry, unless Betsey was he was a good 90% + Black Irish . I tried every which way to find where she came from
On one doc it has Castlereagh and another says Castlereagh River .These places are a long way apart .

State Records did have an aborigial history archivist who I contacted . I also found a couple of researchers into Aboriginal history at Macquarie Uni . No joy from either !
First record I found was Betsey going to the Benevolent Soc . Have copy of these records.

Robert HARRIS is nearly as bad ........ He swam here, If you type his name into NSW coroners indexes on Ancestry you will find ref to deaths of 2 quite different Robert HARRIS', a portmantue maker and a cab driver
Is only 1 actual coroners report and one burial at Rookwood and one death cert ....... So whatever happened to Robert H Edith Maude father. ?????????????

Elizabet ( Betsey ) HARRIS had a really nasty death .

I tried to track all her children deaths records , all show different info . She never married any of her kids fathers . Ethel Mauds birth cert gives a date but the BDMs say no record
She had as bad a death as her mother . Has parents named as John & Elizabeth ........ Were too many Maud HARRIS' to be sure which was which without bying a lot of certs

These days I sometimes call problem research a Betsey Harris ........... I posted a doozie a few days ago which is well named !
