In the year One thousand eight hundred & forty six on 7 March at 12 noon before us, Joseph Michel, Assistant Commissioner to the Mayor, delegate at the official public functions of the Civil State of the Pennes community, district of Garonne, arrondissement (district) of Aix, department of Bouches du Rhone, lodged at the Town Hall by Mr. EDWARD WILLIAMS, aged thirty two (32) a miner working on the railways of Marseilles at Avignon, living in this commune, district of Vlass.
Mr. Williams presented a child to us – of male sex, born the day before yesterday, namely the 5th, at 4.00 pm, in this said commune & same district, of him, declaring of the lady MARIE ANNE EXCELL, his wife, of whom he declared a child to whom he gave the name Henoc.
The said presentations & declarations made In front of Monsieurs Francois Bienvenu Moutet, baker, aged thirty years, & Pierre Hellis, ---- aged twenty eight residing in this commune, of no kinship of (or?) related by marriage to the new born, witnesses as required by the person declaring & have Mr. Francois Bienvenu Moutet signed with us the present deed, the father & the second witness have declared not knowing, after reading the document.
