Hi Debra and Kellie;
Apologies have not been on for a while; a few family matters arose. Kellie, I will get on do what I mentioned re, writing out the accurate family tree for what I have thus far. Deb is most likely right, it appears that either our family has another way into the connection of Sir James Kirkpatrick or what looks to be more likely as new information has presented; it appears to be a more distant relation than first thought. Kellie & Deb; I have purchased a book that was published in 1901 however written in the 1800's. It appears to have been written by a member/relation of the family. It contains much information on the Kirkpatrick's of Closeburn, marriages, DOB's, Deaths, information on the Castle, Baronetcy, Dumfriesshire, Dalgarnock (Dalgarno) and also provides information on the registries which were NOT kept between certain periods of the 1700's. When I have a chance, I will advise on relevant findings. I will begin work on this over the next few days so hopefully there will be a few posts on the matter shortly. The book however, I have NOT had an opportunity to go through it any great detail as yet.
Talk soon.
Robyn.
