Michael, What documents? There are NO documents as important than those Lucy gave the information for herself.
What names, dates and parents details are for the BRIERTY girls and COSTELLO boy?
I have no doubt that as Station Managers the BRIERTY brothers/sons may have had relationships with local women, unmarried and produced children. Same goes for Paddy COSTELLO. BUT finding births may be almost impossible, so finding the right connections is just as hard.
The BRIERTY men from Alexanders line do not appear to be aboriginal so I am guessing it was the women they had (illegitimate) children with who were. Tracing Alexander, his brothers and their legitimate children is easy.
With more information about Lucy's siblings we should be able to start connecting them later in life through newspaper notices, death information etc. Finding those connections, hopefully will lead to more clues to follow.

I am not sure if this helps or not but Williams mob says there were two in Cherbourg at the same time, a Maude Brierty and a Maude Costello and want to know which one is yours.
