Mary Slattery married Thomas Hayes on the 4th of August 1845 at St. Mary's, Sydney, New South Wales. All we know is on her death certificate on the 23rd of June 1873 it says 23 years Victoria and 9 years New South Wales. Their son was born in September of 1849 on the way to Melbourne, so this makes the 23 years in Victoria correct. It also states she was 17 years old when she married and her Fathers name was James Slattery from Limerick, Ireland, with mother unknown. This is my GGGGrandmother, direct lineage through my Father. We have found a few Thomas Hayes's but are unsure as to when he arrived here also. On his death certificate dated 18th of November 1886 is states he was 66 years of age. Born in Limerick, Ireland. Parents unknown, about 40 years in Victoria and about 10 years in New South Wales. We really are stuck on these two and how they exactly got to be in the Colony.

Thomas Fanning is my Husbands side of the family and i was just curious as to if he arrived in NSW, but this isn't as important as my side of the family! :)

Thanks
