I was wondering if somebody could assist me at all. I am trying to find out how my GGGGrandparents arrived here. They're quite common names so it's been difficult. But i was wondering if anyone had access to any kind of shipping records that aren't in the online databases, as i've searched on those with no luck.
MARY SLATTERY. Mary arrived here somewhere in between 1840 & 1842. She was apparently from Limerick, Ireland. She married Thomas Hayes in August 1845 at St Marys,
Sydney. I have just received her death cert and it states 7 yrs in NSW. Their 2nd Child was born in Sydney in May 1847 and their third child was born in Melbourne in Sept 1849, so they moved to Melbourne sometime in that gap. which makes the year of immigration between those two years. She was 17yrs when she got married which would make her birth circa 1828. Her father was apparently a James Slattery with Mother unknown.
Can anyone find an immigration record that could be her?
Also her husband, Thomas Hayes born somewhere between 1814 and 1822 depending on which document you read. Death cert makes him circa 1821, marriage records he'd be circa 1814. I have been told by family members he was a convict and was transported here about 183? and he was only 14yrs old at the time. He was also from limerick, Ireland. Obviously he arrived here before Aug 1845. Parents not mentioned on any documents, unknown on death cert. not mentioned on marriage cert. He's a mystery to us. He's my direct linage GGGGrandfather, my maiden name is Hayes. I just can't seem to find any information at all.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
