Hi Bernadette,

Regarding my previous comment.........
“The death of Joseph TODD's brother, William Scott TODD, at Adelong, on 22.02.1905, aged 42. His niece, Brighty TODD, placed a Memoriam Notice in the Tumut Advocate on 20 Feb 1906.”

It should read.......
The death of Elizabeth CAMPBELL’s (Mrs Joseph TODD) brother, William CAMPBELL (alias SCOTT), at Adelong, on 22.02.1905, aged 42. His niece, Brighty TODD, placed a Memoriam Notice in the Tumut Advocate on 20 Feb 1906.

The above article shows that the CAMPBELL family were also known by the surname of SCOTT.

Sorry for the mix-up.

Hi Bernadette,

Of these marriages listed by Fryerning, how many of their marriage certificates, do you have?

1183 / 1907 Rebecca TODD m Andrew J RYAN Cobar

6883 / 1915 Etha E TODD m. Alfred H SCARR Canowindra

18780 / 1926 Lilian TODD m. William A CONNELLY Inverell

9358 / 1905 Edith M TODD m. Daniel MILLER Cobar

The father's name (Joseph TODD), should be listed, and if he is deceased, it would, most likely, be stated, as "deceased".

Hi Bernadette,

The second son (Walter George TODD) of Joseph and Elizabeth TODD, tried to enlist for WW1, in 1918, but was rejected.

Hi Bernadette,

If the 1891, death of Joseph TODD, turns out to be your man, then you can apply to NSW State Records online, to purchase his Intestate Estate Case Papers.

".... Elizabeth and Joseph had 6 children
1)William John Todd 1881-1881
2)Rebecca Caroline Aka Brighty Todd 1883
3)Edith Mary Aka Ede Todd 1886
4)Etha Elizabeth Todd 1889 my great grandmother
5)Walter George Todd 1891
6)Mary Molly/ Mollie Todd 1894.

Not sure what happened but Elizabeth went on to have 4 children with John Donald Franklin (while she was still married to Joseph Todd)
1)Lillian May (dolly) Todd/Franklin
2)Violet May Todd/Franklin
3)John / Jack Franklin
4)Emily Hilda Todd/Franklin..."

In piecing together the events in this family, and death of Joseph TODD, it is useful to identify the last child born to Joseph.

Lillian M TODD b. 1898 and Violet TODD b. 1901 are both listed with parents Joseph and Elizabeth. How are you identifying them as being born to John Donald FRANKLIN?

Do you have birth details for John / Jack and Emily Hilda....how are they named in the BDM index?

Hi Fryerning,

Regarding this one's birth, below, which (I believe) was after Joseph TODD died.

6)Mary Molly/ Mollie Todd 1894.

In my family tree, I have a husband dying in 1922, with 10 kids listed on his death certificate; which is correct. Then in 1929, twin stillborn boys were born to the widowed lady. I have both twins death certificates. The father is shown, as the man who died in 1922!!
