Surnames: Mary Boyle; Ellen Egan; Honorah Boyle
I have found my grt grandmother - Mary Boyle- listed on

New South Wales, Australia, Immigration Deposit Journals, 1853-1900 for Mary Boyle Deposit Journal 1863

She is listed as being sponsored by her cousin Ellen Egan to travel out to Australia.

Mary is later listed on (1864)

New South Wales, Australia, Assisted Immigrant Passenger Lists, 1828-1896, where she appears to enter Australia with another cousin Honorah Boyle.

However, I have since found the following document (of 1883) where it appears a refund was made.

I am puzzled as to whether Mary Boyle did enter Australia in 1864 or not.
And why a refund was requested + given I'm 1883 - long after she was back in Ireland. (She married in Clare in 1874.) Incidentally Mary Boyle never talked of any travels to Australia and elderly relatives who recall her were amazed to hear of these records (she lived until 1945 - 100yrs- and is recalled by her now elderly grand dgts 92yrs)

I am also unable to clearly read/understand the notes written on refund doc. "PC not in + is now out of date".

Can anyone enlighten me as to what Mary Boyle was up to?

Many Thanks

Joanne
