Re: French ancestors
The first Joseph Wenger that I have was born about 1799 in St. Ludwig,(France or Germany) He married Anne Marie Trisunemann, who was born about 1804.
Their son, Joseph F Wenger, was born 12 Mar 1830 in Mahelfeden, St. Louis, Alsice, France. He married Lucile Adele Marie Frechin (who was born in Harcourt, France (Haute Saone) 4 Oct 1855 in Marshall, Henry County, Iowa on 1 Jan 1877. They had ten kids: Joseph Edward, Eugene, Ada, Peter, Bertha, Ella Elma, Katherine, Adeline Laura, Fred and Louis Homer.
Their first son, Jeseph Edward Wenger, was born in Iowa on 23 July 1888. He was my grandfather.
