Many thanks for your quick reply, our family of the past were apparently known for nicknames !! Doing some further research after posting, I discovered all 3 of the boys births,with a common maiden name of GARNER . I was then able to link up PERCY to a FLORENCE D GARNER, married in 1933. Percy`s family nickname is actually Tim, but how my older cousins knew his wife by the name Joan is anybodies guess !! Another obscure nickname I presume. Here in UK we find it very difficult to access Australian records after the early 1900`s. Anything to do with convicts yes, and some passenger lists for later . I have sent away for the birth certificates of the boys and the marriage cert. for PERCY. When all (I hope) is confirmed I will then try the passenger lists ect. again with the correct names.
