That's the problem, I don't know her exact birthday. All I know is 1933 in Portales, NM. I wrote to NM and they do not have a birth record for her. No one I have contacted knows her birthday, either. Her marriage certificate didn't have it on it, either. It says 1933 as well. Same for divorce papers. I've contacted several members of the Johnston family who have trees on Ancestry.com and none of them know any information about her either. They have her name and know she went to CA, but don't know anything about her. She ran away from home and left all ties to her family. All I know is her father was William Martin Johnston and her mother was Barbara Lee Hicks. I know she had sisters and brothers and a step mother. I've traced several members of her family, but none of them know anything since she broke all ties with the family. I know she married Harold Wallace Howard, Jr. in 1953 and divorced him 1967 and that they had 2 sons and a daughter, but don't know any of their names. I can't find any census with them listed.
