I am looking for documentation of Von Berg after Aunt passed in Neosho Rapids, Kansas Aug 15, 1902. Appears Von Berg went to Guthrie, Okla and applied for marriage license with Emma Rosecrans.....no details of his life after this...no burial
family stories tell of potters field in Farlington, Kansas. Thank you Dr. D. A. Walker Palmer

FOUND: "Professor?" A. C. Von Berg in 1905

My reading of your post was that Von Berg was married to Alice until Alice's death in 1902. That may not be what you meant.

However, assuming that A.C. and Alice were still together at the time of her death, is it also correct to assume that they were RESIDING in Neosho Rapids, Lyon County, KS, around the time of her death?

Do you have any federal or Kansas state census data for A.C. Von Berg?

Where and when were A.C. and Alice married? Did they have any children?

1903: Per Oklahoma, County Marriages, 1890-1995, I note that Arthur Cyrus Von Berg and Emma Rosecrans were married 20 Feb 1903 in LoganCounty, Oklahoma.

Do you know what A.C.'s occupation was? I found references to A.C. Von Berg, Piano & Organ Builder, in the Kearney Daily Hub, Kearney, Nebraska, in 1905.

AC and Alice were together at her death. The death is mysterious as is two other women he was with prior to Alice. At Alice death, he did not file a death certificate.
No census exist for Von Berg. Alice and AC were married in Ottawa (Jan 1901), they had no children. The Oklahoma marriage license is valid, family stories tell the marriage did not take place for he died in Kansas consigned to a potter's field burial near Falington where a Swedish Colony existed. Supposedly he had ties with Lindborgs who are buried in the Farlington cemetery. A few news articles cite AC as being in towns for piano and organ repairs. There is an incomplete document of him being with the Swedish Band of Ruleton, Ks. Rulton and most of its records were destroyed by a tornado. AC is a man of mystery and well acquainted with carbolic acid and its sweetness when added to coffee. Alice's remains can not be DNA tested for AC declared she died of typhoid malaria fever. The actual deaths of that cause occurred and documented at Ft. Riley, Ks from troops returning from other countries. Typhus was common in death due to impure water sources in Kansas.....Thank you for your inquiry and information. Dr. Daisy A. Walker Palmer

Thank you for your help. It is not a real grave or death record. It is incorrect since Von Berg was alive in May 1905 in Kearney, Nebraska.

Yes indeed but at least Find-a-Grave creator provides a year of birth for AC Von Berg - which may or may not be correct - but that's an essential if anyone is to help with this. Good luck!
