Looking for an adoptee born 1937

Hi, I'm looking for information on my Mom. She was born early March possibly end of Feb. in 1937 in the Waterbury/Hartford area in Connecticut. I believe she wasn't "adopted" legally. From what little we got from my Grandmother Mom was born in a hospital. If anyone knows about their Grandmother or Great Grandmother giving up a baby girl during that time period in that locale would be greatly appreciated.

be aware, here at ancestry, under other topics, are adoption boards, monitored by readers with experience in finding adoption records-also boards for birth parents , siblings, 1/2 sibs searching for the children who were given up-good places to post-also, missing persons boards, by states

A DNA test could be very helpful. I recently suggested it for a friend who knew nothing about his father except that he was Native American. He ended up getting several "hits" for cousins that were Native American. Just an idea.

Thank You pascoagwood, That's our next step. I think I was being a bit ambitious in thinking that I might be able to find more information. It's hard when there was a lot of moving and secrets.

Have you located your Mom in the 1940 census - her adoptive parents may be a friend or relative of the family.
