Hi Christy - I am Leslie Meyer - great granddaughter of Charley and Alice Oregon. My grandmother was their daughter Jessie Aragon. She married Amos Dillon and moved to the Tacoma area in Washington State. Her son, Victor Dillon, was my father. I was adopted at birth. I met Victor in 1998. I am looking for anyone who has information about a Shoshone man named Ta Toit Se (Daylight). He was arrested on the Wind River Reservation in the late 1890's for killing his wife 'sleep' and served at the Wyoming Territorial Prison. If anyone has any information please contact me ASAP.

Identifying African American Children on Set of Western "War Paint" 1926

Can anyone help me idenify the members of the African American family that visited the set of WAR PAINT in 1926? This film was made in the Wind River Indian Reservation and starred Tim McCoy and comedian Karl Dane, who appears in the photo.

Hello I am also searching this line. the names I have is One knife (wanipe)she died in Mt View in 1879, whose mother was Tessiva, unsure of the spelling in 18 March 1920. I was told Fort Washakie, Fremont. Have not verified grave sites. I believe her mother was yellow beads sister to Washakie. This was verbally told to me . Unfortunately my grandmother did not like to speak of her heritage. I do remember them recieving a letter about moving Chief Washakie's bones

I do know she married my gggrandfaterh Richard Henry Hamilton. they had six children George, Minnie, Rob Roy.,Annie, Lucy, and William. Born abt 1855 and death May 1879 in Mountain View, Wyoming. I use to write to Joe Worley when he lived in Renton in the '80's, than he went to live with his son Merlin I believe, don't know the year he passed away. Have been working on genealogy since the 80's. Have pictures of lots of Worleys.

If you don't mind me asking, how do you know that you are his granddaughter? Is you father (or mother) one of his children? If so, do you know which one?

We've run into some confusion regarding facts around Chief Washakie's daughter, Mary, and his sister, Mary. Do you or your father know anything about either? Spouses, children, history, etc? My grandma's info is word of mouth and at times very specific and others vague.

searching for birth mother of twin boys born march 1974

I'm helping my husband to find his birth mother. He and his brother were born 3/3/74 in Casper WY. They were born approx 4 weeks premature, and adopted shortly afterwards together to the same family from CA. The only information that we have been able to get is that their mother was very young, single and living on the Wind River reservation. She was either living with her parents or grandparents at the time. The information on their birth father, he was a traveling sales man with scottish/irish background.
We do not have a family name that we are searching for. The information on their adoption was know by their adopted mother. She has since passed away.
Please if anyone thinks this sounds familar or knows of places to search, I would love to hear from you. My husband had struggled with the thought he may never know his birth family. He would like to be able to tell our children about his family.

My grandfather, Vance "BOB" Leroy STOWELL went to school in Wind River with the Arapahoe and Shoshone Indians in 1910-1920 or there abouts. It is written in my Grandmothers bible. We have found some info on Adeline's parents on the LDS site, but it is inaccurate. Some time ago I posted an ISO birth parents and had a few replies.Recent findings indicate I may have been born in Kansas and processed through Wyoming. My birth name is Frank Ernst, as far as I know I was adopted through Casper,WY on or about December 7th, 1964.By Ray and Minnie Watkins, I believe that Ray ran the theatre there. Any and all information appreciated. The rest of the story is they are both dead, and they took it to the grave with them.

ThIs Thomas listed in 1910 is also in the same place in 1920 and 1930. He is married to Blanche Harris. His children are Lois, thomas jr., martin, mary, and elizabeth. He was born in Wyoming in @ 1880 and as of 1910 he was married for 8 years. Do you want this census information?
