I am a direct descendant of Sally Exervia (Sally of the Shoshone) her daughter Adelaide was my great great grandmother, she married James Moorehead Brown and they had a son Nephi my great grandfather.
Sally married Batiste Exervia. She had two children with him Adelaide and a son John, he went by Indian John...not much known about him. Batiste Exervia either died or went missing and she married his friend Barney Ward then had two daughters with him. Barney was shot in the back and died. They think Sally went back to live with her tribe. I have heard that Sally was orphaned during the bear river massacre and was just an infant,at that time, but, if she was born in early 1800 the time line doesn't match up, because the Bear River Massacre didn't happen until 1863? I was looking for more information on her father as well.
