Perry, There is a historical marker at the Oregon Trail about 3 miles south of Lingle but it only says:
OREGON TRAIL
MARKED BY THE
STATE OF WYOMING
1914

The area has been highly disturbed with road building, canal building, several houses, a highway bridge, and the river may well have moved some since 1849. There is no evidence of any graves in the immediate vicinity. If you want a photo of the historical marker, send me an email: linglebird@yahoo.com. Where did you get your information on the location of the grave? It might help pin things down better. Bob Dorn

I am not sure why you have this posted in Goshen County, but it appears that Isadore Essler died in Stearns County, Minnesota 3 March 1914, born 17 December 1837 (1900 US census says October 1836), Germany. His wife Fernika died 29 March 1926, same place, born 1833. The 1885 Minnesota state census has Isadore, age 50, residing at Raymond, Stearns County along with Fernika, age 52, Frank, age 16, Joseph Beckman, age 34, Katherine Beckman, age 35, and Michael Beckman, age 2. All this can be found at www.familysearch.org (the new familysearch). There was a John Essler in Goshen County, Wyoming in the early 1920's. You may have all this. Is there a reason for posting in Goshen County? Robert

Sorry Kristin, I am "just" interested in the Eissler persons. After a total computer crash a year ago I lost all my database with about 27,000 (!) persons - Eissler and related ones. Since 6 months I have been putting the names and dates again into Brothers Keeper - by now I have more than 8,000 persons (abt. 4,500 Eisslers).
Think it would take another life to put ALL the available family into BK . . .

Nevertheless - thanks, Kristin!
Best wishes for a snowless day - we have tons of it here . . .
Hanno
