I am a direct descendant of E G Appleton and Helen Appleton. They are not related to any Appleton by blood
E G Appleton was born Egbert Mowat in Michigan; he took his step- father's surname. Helen Appleton was the mother of Dr Appleton. She was born Helen Amelia Slocum, married (1) John Mowat, divorced; married (2) Mr Appleton. Helen was the second wife of Mr. Appleton, and in her later years she ended up living with her son, E G Appleton. Margaret Appleton was the third wife of Dr Appleton. I doubt there are other direct descendants of Dr Appleton, but if there are, I will exchange information.
