Hello, I am not related. I'm not sure if you are looking for the Lipka family (Marie's husband's family), or Marie's family (Lampe family).

But Marie's husband was Harold Lipka. His parents seem to be Herman & Elizabeth (Pankratz) Lipka. Herman's parents seem to be Frederic Lipka & Charlotte Goebels, and Elizabeth's parents seem to be Casper Pankratz & Elizabeth Karl.

I could possibly find more if I knew for certain which family you are looking for. The Lipka family or the Lampe family. RP

Elizabeth Lipka, Lifelong Resident Of County, Is Dead
Pittsville—Mrs. Elizabeth Lipka, 61, died at her home in Pittsville early Wednesday morning. She was a life-long resident of Wood county.
Funeral services will toe held at 9 o'clock Friday morning at St. Joachim's Catholic church, the Rev. J. Ortowski officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. The rosary will be said tonight at 8 o'clock at the residence.
Mrs. Lipka was born February 6, 1884, at Auburndale, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Pankratz, and married Herman Lipka there February 10, 1904. Mr. Lipka died in 1935 and a son Norman in 1923.
Surviving are six children Wallace, Milwaukee; Harold, Pittsville; Mrs. Leo Worden, Biron; Miss Esther Lipka and Mrs. Irving Allen, Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Arnold Seidl Marshhfield; three brothers, Joseph Pankratz, Waukegan; William Pankratz, Milwaukee, and Louis Pankratz, Arpin; a sister, Mrs. Joe Schweikl, Marshfield, and 15 grandchildren.

My Grandfather (a Pelot) lives in Rudolph and is descended from Hladileks. He and my grandmother talked of visiting the originals (check immigrants) once. I think it was two brothers and a sister but I may be forgetting a brother. From what I've been led to understand they were an affluent family who was forced out under threat of death and the older ones did not enjoy modest living.

I can not verify the story because I heard it so long ago. But it has captivated me since childhood, which is why I keep looking them up.

I know that during the German occupation (1939) the Nazis sought to eradicate all of Czechoslovakia's Esteemed and Educated citizens which may explain why they came. Or the civil unrest in the late 1800's that led to Czechoslovakia claiming independence from the Austro-Hungarian Empire (1918).

Whatever the reason, I'd sure love to know more!

Should mention again, the link to Ionia and Louise Ward is that Ionia was my moms birth mothers sister. The only one I ever heard about and met when I was little. I think maybe her famiy would know about William Herzberg as they remained in touch after his wife Estelle, Ionia's sister passed away. Not much to go on!!

It is confusing... My mom was born WIllmae Herzberg....Estelle Rowlee Herzberg, mother, father, William Herzberg. Estelle died in 1929, William put my mom up for adoption to Will and Elsie Wettengel, shortly after,good friends of theirs. My mom was Willmae Herzberg Wettengel, married Paul Rockey. Sorry for the confusion. I am new at this and it is puzzling! It MAY be solved would really like to verify Wiliams date of birth. Waiting on an old insurance policy I found of his, they are looking, also on death certificate. Would like to know her natural parents family. Everyone has been so helpful!!! THANK YOU ALL!! Will keep checking relatives....

William Ward, Nekoosa, Dies; Funeral Friday
William L. Ward, 47, of Nekoosa, died at 3:30 a. m. today at Riverview hospital after a week's illness following a stroke. He had been a resident of the community all his life.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, at 1:30 p. m. from the home and 2 p. m. at the Congregational church in Nekoosa with the Rev. C. A. O'Neill officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside cemetery there.
Mr. Ward was born in the town of Dexter, Wood county, on February 23, 1896, the son of Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Ward. He married Ionia Rowlee at Pittsville on September 10, 1919.
His parents, who live at Cranmoor, his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Frederick Schmidt of Nekoosa, and one son, Lawrence Ward, seaman first class, on duty in the southwest Pacific, survive. He also leaves three brothers, Harve of Cranmoor, Francis of Racine and Robert of Wisconsin Rapids, and one grandson, Frederick Lawrence Schmidt of Nekoosa.
Friends may pay their respects at the residence. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Voss funeral service.

Mrs. Ward applied to the WACS two weeks ago, passed the examinations in Milwaukee last week and was sworn in on Friday. She now awaits orders to report for training. A son-in-law, Corp. Tech. Frederick Schmidt is stationed in Jackson. Miss., and his wife and son Frederick Lawrence have been making their home with her mother.

Relatives joined with Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Ward in observance of their golden wedding anniversary at their home in Cranmoor on Monday, June 28. Mrs. Ward's sister, Mrs. Fred Hutziker of Wausau, who served as her bridesmaid at the service in the bride's home in 1893, was present for the celebration.
The wedding cake, which was decorated with golden roses, was served to Mr. and Mrs. Hutziker, Wausau; to the Ward's children, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ward of Wisconsin Rapids and Harvey Ward, who lives at home; Mrs. William Ward of Nekoosa, and the grandchildren, Philip and Charlotte Mae Ward of Wisconsin Rapids; and Mrs. Frederic Schmidt. A greatgrandchild, Frederic Lawrence Schmidt was also present at the festivities.
A son, F. E. Ward of Racine and his wife, and two grandsons, Lawrence of Nekoosa and Dale of Cranmoor, who are at sea with the U. S. navy, were unable to attend.
Other guests were Mr. and Mrs. H. Krueger and Norma Jane, and Ed Krueger of Cranmoor, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kannenberg and Robert Wohlfahrt of Wausau.

NEKOOSA-Wyonia Moore, 89, died Saturday Aug. 15, 1998, at Edgewater Haven Nursing, Port Edwards, WI.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Church of Christ, Nekoosa. The Rev. Jeannie Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Pittsville.
Mrs. Moore was born Jan. 10, 1909 in Green County, Iowa to Elmer and Edith (Senter) Waldo. She married Lenard Moore Oct. 16, 1929 in Pittsville. He died July 7, 1976.
She and her husband farmed in the Pittsville area until 1955, when they moved to Nekoosa. She also was employed as a dietary aide at Edgewater Haven, and by Walker Cranberry Co. and Ocean Spray Cranberry Co.
Mrs. Moore was a member of the Nekoosa Senior Citizens, Pittsville Historical Society, the United Church of Christ Women's Fellowship and Rebecca Circle.
Survivors include one son, Harley (Margaret), of Nekoosa; two grandchildren, Crystal (Dale) **Weis** and Catherine (Daniel) **Goodness**, both of Nekoosa; three foster grandchildren, Rox Ann (Douglas) **Heindl**, Wis. Rapids; Betty (Alan) **Vollert**, Rudolph, and Mary **Diesburg**, Hancock. Four great-grandchildren, five foster great-grandchildren; one sister, Arlene **Likes**, Resida, CA; one brother, Robert (Elaine) **Waldo**, Madison; and one sister-in-law, Alice **Isbel**, Sun Prairie. Russell Dye was/is my grandfather-lived in Nekoosa, WI-wife still alive-Fidelis, Syd's brother, a brother of about 9 siblings. Fits into the William, leatha, loretta family.. and has a sister Hazel (Dye) Thompson who lived just south of Marshfield-in Richfield, WI, and she also is not listed.

Freddie Dye was also a son of Harry's. Lived in Arpin area and is currently at Strawberry Lane assisted living center in Wisconsin Rapids.

Sydney Dye would have been my Great Uncle (My paternal grandfathers brother) and he went by "Syd". And, yes he died in Italy in the war/service. Went by the name of "Syd". They lived on county trunk A outside of Pittsville, WI/Arpin area.

There is a burial for a John Termaat in the same cemetery as Adrian Verhulst, and his age matches the John in the 1930 census with Jane. He was older than her - the birth year on his page should say 1865 instead of 1965.

Have you looked for marriage information or an obit for Dorothy's sister Violet? That may give clues.

Hi,I am looking for information on a possible wedding between Jane Verhulst (formerly Huisheere)to a TerMaat sometime between 1923 and 1930. Jane was married to Edward 'Adrian' Verhulst but he died in 1923.
My family had no knowledge that Jane was remarried until my grandmother came across a clipping of her mother's wedding announcement. My grandma's mom is Jane's daughter. In the announcement, it says the Dorthy Verhulst, daughter of Mrs. J. TerMaat, with no mention of a father. Dorthy (Dot) got married April 29, 1931 to Cornelius (Casey) Greeneway at First Reformed Church in Vesper.
I have found the occasional reference to a Mrs. John TerMaat, but it is not an uncommon name, and my family has been friends with TerMaat's and I believe there a few on my family tree.
I believe Jane was listed as a TerMaat in the 1930 census, but I can't find any information on a wedding or divorce of Jane to a TerMaat. Dot never said anything about it and when my grandma asked her about it, didn't want to talk about it.
The would have lived somewhere in central WI, probably around the Sherry, Arpin, Vesper area
Any information would be appreciated!

looking for obit for Michael Earl Adler,believe he died or had an obit posted in Marshfield in 1950. He is buried in Gate of Heaven and the date on marker says 1950.

His wife died in Eau Claire in 1993 (15 August 1993) perhaps her obit might give more information as to his place or date of death.

Mina Schnibley (Schnably) was my grandmother's sister. John Schnibley (Schnably) was my great-grandfather. He sold his farm which was located in what is now downtown Milwaukee and moved to Wisconsin Rapids in 1856. He was a butcher, worked "lumbering" and farming. He served as a member of the town board of supervisors. Served as school treasurer for the school district for 16 years
He was a Democrat and a member of the Congregational Church

My grandmother, Laura Bloom was born to John and Mary Schnably of Wisconsin Rapids Feb. 20, 1863. She was married to Edward Frank Bloom Sept. 16, 1886. She was the 6th of 15 children. She had a sister, Mina, whose married name was Gross. I have more information about my great-grandfather, John Schnably, if anyone is interested

Do you know if Donald was born with the surname LaVaque? Otherwise, you could ask them to look for a Donald with mother Daisy LaVaque circa time of his birth. I don't think families waited too long to have a child baptized back in those times. Hopefully there is not a restriction on his birth year. But if there is, maybe they will make an exception because he is deceased. Also, have you tried to look for a birth record? Maybe Gertrude didn't have it destroyed? Good luck. RP.
